OpenSQLCamp US will be co-located with the Southeast LinuxFest, or SELF. The call for papers is open until Tuesday, April 3rd. SELF is Friday, June 8th through Sunday, June 10th in Charlotte, North Carolina. Registration is free for both OpenSQLCamp and the Southeast LinuxFest. There is a MySQL day on Friday, June 8th, a database track on Saturday for chosen presentations, and an unconference style day for OpenSQLCamp talks on Sunday. SELF call for Papers - call for papers is open until Tuesday April 3rd.
The 1st Latin American Conference about MySQL, NoSQL and Cloud technologies will be held in Buenos Aires Wednesday, June 27th through Friday, June 29th at the Puerto Madero Hilton Hotel. It is called the MariaDB NoSQL & Cloud Latin American Conference and we will link to information in the show notes.

ClouSE provides fully functional, transactional and ACID-compliant relational data management on top of cloud storage. With ClouSE many MySQL-based applications wouldn’t require changing any code.
At the Movies
This week in at the movies we present"The Right Tool for the Right Job: Choosing the Best Data Storage Option" by Patrick Lightbody of BrowserMob at the OSCon Data 2011 conference. This presentation goes through the decision process, and ends up with 5 different ways to store data for 5 different purposes, showing that sometimes a hybrid solution is best.
